Ugadi
This year's
Ugadi celebrations was held on April 21st, 2012 in the auditorium of the Canton Hindu Temple, Canton, MI.
The program began by Ananthaswamy sisters, Sunitha and Anitha,
followed by variety of performances by both kids and adults
that included songs and skits. Also, the new youth
committee was introduced followed by a sumptuous dinner.
Purandara Dasa Aradhane
Purandara
Dasa Aradhane was celebrated on March 31st, 2012 at Costic
Center in Farmington Hills, MI. The
event was in coordination with Vishwa
Madhva Sangha and several famous Purandara Dasa compositions were sung by both
adults as well as kids.

Deepotsava
This year's
Deepotsava celebration was on Nov 12th, 2011 at Bharatiya
Temple in Troy, MI. This event attracted a huge crowd
and the audience enjoyed
various performances that included dances and songs performed by both kids
as well as adults. The delicious festive food was enjoyed by all.
A huge THANK YOU to all the patrons and volunteers for attending and making this
event a successful one.
Hindustani
Music
A special musical evening by well known
Hindustani singer Dr.Nagaraj Rao Havaldar was held on Oct.
15th, 2011 at Novi Civic Center in Novi, MI. He was
accompanied by his sons Omkaranath with vocal support,
Kedarnath on tabla and his wife Sudha on Tanpura. The audience enjoyed
various Hindustani songs.
Ganesha
Festival
This year's
Ganesha Festival was celebrated on September 17th, 2011 in the
auditorium of the Canton Hindu Temple, Canton, MI.
The morning began with a worship led by Shastreeji Shri. Shiva
Kumar Bhat followed by devotional music by
Shri. Ranga Tirumala and Party.
Summer Picnic
This year's summer
picnic was held at Marshbank Park in West Bloomfield
Hills, MI on July 16th, 2011. This
event was sponsored by the Executive Committee and was free
for all the members. We had lots
of food (pot luck), fun and games (included couples 3 legged
race and Cricket) and it was a great success. Our
heartfelt
thanks to each one of you for bringing delicious food and making
this picnic an event to remember.

in Farmington Hills, MI. There were variety
of performances by both kids and adults and the audience enjoyed
various performances that included dances, songs and skits.

Deepotsava celebration was on Nov 13th, 2010 at Orchard Lake Middle
School in West Bloomfield, MI. This event attracted a huge crowd
and the audience enjoyed
various performances that included dances and songs performed by both kids
as well as adults. The delicious festive food was enjoyed by all.

Magic
Show
PKK hosted another AKKA artist Mr. Kaushik and his
act "Magic of Manku Timma". It was a free
event for all and was on October 3rd, 2010 at the
Sai Temple in Livonia,
MI. Mr. Kaushik spoke on the eternal message of
Shri. DVG's 'Manku Timmana Kagga' along with magic tricks.
Ganesha
Festival
This year's
Ganesha Festival was celebrated on September 19th,
2010 at Towsley Auditorium, Washtenaw Community College in Ann
Arbor, MI and PKK had invited the world famous Prabhat
Kalavidaru. The
event started with Prabhat Kalavidaru's famous dance drama
Kindari Jogi and ended with Mahishasura Mardini. The audience enjoyed
this rare event. Our
special and heartfelt
thanks to the volunteers on the day of the
mega event and also to our members who hosted the artists of Prabhat Kalavidaru for
lunch and dinner throughout their stay in Metro
Detroit.
Concert
A special musical evening by well known film
playback singer Sri. Badri Prasad was held on July 28th,
2010 at Costic Center in Farmington Hills, MI. The
event was a huge success. A tribute
was paid to Sri. Harihareshwara by Mr. Ramesh Chakravarty, Mr.
Amarnath Gowda and Mr. Nagaraj before the main event. The audience enjoyed
various nostalgic Kannada songs from Sri Badri
Prasad and two other local singers - Smt. SriDevi ShivayogiMutt
and Smt. Uma Kher.

Center in Farmington Hills, MI. The
event was in coordination with Vishwa
Madhva Sangha and more than 100 people attended this event.
Several famous Purandara Dasa compositions were sung by both
adults as well as kids. Highlight
of this event included a concert on Dasa Sahitya by an
accomplished artist from India, Sri. Kaivalya Kumar.
Ugadi
This year's
Ugadi hubba celebrations were held on March 20th 2010. The
event was a huge success. Pampa Kannada koota committee were
able to make this event a free one. There were variety
of performances by both kids and adults. The audience enjoyed
various performances that included dances, songs and skits.
The delicious festive food was enjoyed by all. The event
also bid adieu to the existing committee and a new committee
steered by Nagaraj Tavarekere will be soon effective.

Deepotsava
This year's
Deepotsava, a celebration of both Deepavali and Rajyotsava
took place in West Bloomfield Middle school in Farmington
hills, MI. This event attracted a crowd of 200 people. The
drama directed by Nagaraj Tavarekere
and the exclusive concert by Sri. Vidwan S Shankarm was
really outstanding. The drama troop did an excellent job. The
dinner was catered from udupi restaurant and was delicious.
Thank you to all the patrons for attending and making this
event a successful one and also to all the volunteers for all
their effort.
Ganesha
Pooje
Ganesha
Pooje was performed on Sept 12th at "The Temple of Eternal
Mother - ParaShakti" temple in Pontiac, MI. Around 100 people
attended the pooje, songs of Lord Ganesha was sung with deep
devotion and dozens of volunteers sponsored the food. Our
sincere gratitude to all the volunteers and also to the the
temple priests who did an excellent job in performing the
pooje.
AKKA
Comedy Show
"Nagoke
illa Recession" was held on May 23, 2009. The
event was peformed by comedy trio from Karnataka - Gangavathi
Pranesh, Richard Louis and Mimicri Dayananda. The PKK members
had laugh of their time. PKK want to thank AKKA for organizing
this event.
Ugadi
Ugadi hubba
celebrations held on April 18th, was truly a grand success. Many
kids showed off their talents with great festive spirit. More than
200 people attended the event to make it an remarkable evening.
Festive food ordered from Udupi was delicious and appreciated by
all. Out grateful thanks to each one of you for coming and making
the event an evening to remember.
Purandara Dasa Aradhane
Purandara

Several famous Purandara Dasa compositions were sung. The
dance performances by the students of Nrityollasa Center directed
by Roopa Shyamasundara were truly excellent and had the audience
delighted. Congratulations to all the participants for providing
such an awesome performance.

Deepotsava
A celebration of both Deepavali and Rajyotsava was conducted by PKK on the 8th of November. Approximately about 200 people attended the function at Lawrence Technological center Science Auditorium in Southfield. Food catered by Suvai Indian Restaurant was Excellent. The cultural program which included a variety of items started at 6 PM and had the audience glued to their seats until it ended at 8.30 PM. Kudos to all participants!
